HWY 50 Attractions

Tuesday we left Fallon and headed for Ely. We have made the trip across Nevada on HWY 50 more times than I can count.

About 20 miles east of Fallon is Sand Mountain. It is popular with ATV's and the dune buggy crowd. It is quite the site to see, seamingly a dune alone at the corner of a salt flat.

A very common site in Nevada is dust devils. I took a picture of these two near New Pass Summit, west of Austin about 20 miles. I have never seen a dust devil in Star Valley.

We stopped for a break at Hickison Petroglyphs Recreation area, between Austin and Eureka. We almost always stop either here or at the top of Bob Scott Summit to let the kids run for a while.

The shade of a tree was a popular parking spot. Several cars stopped and enjoyed the site while we were there.

Ruby, Spencer and Preston in the shade of a Juniper tree. They had fun running around on the trails.
