Fair Bound Pillow Cases

Ruby made these smart looking pillow cases in 4H. She picked out the material herself.

She has folded them, in a plastic bag, and stored away. She has to keep them new and unused until the county fair in August.

I think she did a wonderful job!

Litte Big Horn

A week ago Saturday, we made the 65 mile trip to Jackson Hole. As we traveled through the Snake River Canyon we saw several mountain goats on the cliffs above. Once we arrived, in Jackson, we took a ride north of town onto the wildlife preserve. There we saw several big horn sheep on some cliffs, and this young ram was feeding next to the road. He could care less as we stopped and I snapped this picture. Notice how he is shedding his winter coat?

35 YEARS

Dave and Janet Wooner

Dave and Janet met in December of 1972, two weeks before Christmas, at the VFW hall in Fallon Nevada. They were introduced by a mutual friend. Dave worked at the cemetery at the time, and the place still holds special memories for Janet!

They married on April 27, 1973 in Fallon Nevada at Dave's parents house on Front Street. Today they still live in Fallon, and both work at Western Nevada Community College.

As Grandparents go, you couldn't find any better!

Happy Anniversary Grandma and Grandpa!

The Boys are 6

Preston and Spencer turned 6 years old on April 21st. They share their birthday with their Uncle Jared, and their cousin Jordan.

Angela gave each boy six invitations to hand out. They could choose whose box at school to put them in. The idea was to have an all boy party.

We had 11 kids show up for the party. Ever have a house full of boys that age? What a mad house we had for awhile.

Cole and Preston wrestle on the floor... Whacking each other with balloons seemed to be a favorite.

Wow... Preston, Boston, Will, Cole, and Jacob in a rare moment of sitting on the couch.

Remember it was suppose to be an all boy party? We had a good laugh...Preston and Spencer each invited a pretty girl from their class. Sarah and Kimberly. Sarah use to live in our house. Her parents built the house.

Cole, Spencer and Boston dig into the cake and ice cream!

Caleb's Baptism

We recently made a trip to Elko for cousin Caleb's baptism. It was great to see so much of the family. My parents, all of my siblings and their children, and Melissa and Alec were all there. Ashley and her family couldn't make it, dang it!

I didn't take many pictures. Unusual for me! But here are a couple I did happen to take.

We spent a night in SLC and a day at Hogle Zoo. Spencer, Ruby, and Preston pose along with the Albino Alligator!

The Zebra's were a hit! As you can tell by the coats it was a pretty chilly day, but we still had a blast.

A rare photo of Liss and I. Dang she is looking good! It was great to see her and Alec.

Photo's taken: April 11th and 12th. Angela took the photo of Liss and I.

Navy Bean Bacon Chowder

Angela made this chowder a couple of Sunday's ago. Sunday usually means something from the crockpot and this recipe was an instant HIT! We all loved it!

Sunny Saturday Afternoon

I had a very nice conversation with Grandpa Wooner this evening, just before dinner. He has been wondering where my blog post have been! I have been under the weather for a while and haven't felt very good, so the post had taken the back seat for the time being.

Grandpa was wondering what the snow is like now that April has arrived, so I took a few quick shots so he, and anyone one else who happens to be interested and have a look at the current snow pack in Star Valley.

I took the photo's above and below from the back porch. The above photo is up the draw toward the Aspen Grove that we like to hike to (in the summer). The photo below is looking south threw the neighbors back yards.

The photos above and below are from the front porch looking across are front yard. Notice on the Salt River Range across the valley that the southern exposures actually have some dry ground!
