My next installment of picture of the day.

An explanation: For Christmas, Santa brought me a new Nikon D3000 Camera! I have been having a blast with it. I recently finished a class at the community college on photography, and have begun in earnest to learn how to use all the nifty functions and settings of my new camera. The best way to learn is to do, so I plan on posting a photo for each day for the next year. I may not be able to post each and every day, but I will post photos to make up for the days I miss.

Thus far the posted photos have been straight from the camera, without any editing what so ever. For now I am concentrating on technique. I am not too worried about how good they are, more how they were taken, and under what conditions, and with what lenses.

Midnight Ice

I set the tripod up in the house and opened the front door. I turned all the lights and tv off in the house, then took this photo of the ice hanging from the eve.
